Georgia Tech WR Eric Singleton Jr. enters the NCAA transfer portal

Georgia Tech Wide receivers Eric Singleton Jr. enters the NCAA transfer portal. Singleton spent two seasons with the Yellow Jackets.

Singleton started all 12 of the Yellow Jackets’ regular-season games this season and recorded 56 catches for 754 yards and three touchdowns, a team-high. Singleton’s 754 yards are the 12th most in the ACC.

Singleton’s best performance of the season in the narrow 30:29 win over Georgia Tech NC State in Week 13. He finished the game with five catches and a season-high 106 yards. Singleton continued the spectacular performance with eight catches for a total of 86 yards and a touchdown Georgia.

Singleton’s standout performance as a sophomore was anything but surprising. The Peach State native made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2023. In his debut season, Singleton collected 48 receptions for a total of 714 yards and six scores.

For his efforts, Singleton was named a Freshman All-American by On3, along with numerous other media outlets. Additionally, Singleton received All-ACC Honorable Mention and finished second in ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year voting.

Head coach at Georgia Tech in November Brent Key raved about his outstanding WR.

“It was great to see how he developed into a true receiver, the chemistry between him and the quarterback, how he affects others around him, what his work ethic is,” Key said.

“I think he’s grown a lot as a receiver, but he’s also grown a lot emotionally. Being able to get a drop, put it behind you, move on to the next one and then make a big play later on.”

Eric Singleton Jr. played high school football at Alexander (GA), where he was a three-star prospect. According to Singleton, Singleton was the No. 1,078 overall recruit and No. 164 wide receiver in the 2023 recruiting cycle the On3 industry rankinga weighted average that takes into account all four major recruiting media companies.

Now Singleton will try to find a new home in the transfer portal. Brent Key is no stranger to players leaving the program. Last offseason, Georgia Tech lost 26 players to the transfer portal.
