Give me more Indiana Jones reviews

Reviews are required Indiana Jones and the Great Circlethe latest from Wolfenstein creator MachineGames. I didn’t play Big circleand I’m not a passionate Indiana Jones fan, so I admit I was hoping for Wolfenstein, but with a hat. Instead, we have… well, look at some of these review headlines:

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Would have been better as a film

A great adventure that stays true to the films

The Great Circle Shines when it forgets Indiana Jones

The best adventure Indy has had in over 30 years

Every moment you play Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Feels like torture

One of the big adventures of this year

Looking at all this, you might think the game is divisive, but I tend to think it’s the best kind of chaos. In the reviews, some people liked the amount of cutscenes – IGN’s reviewer wrote: “Basically there are.” two films “There are plenty of cutscenes here, but it never felt like too much” – while others, like The Verge, felt that the cutscenes stole the game’s best moments. Some writers were excited by the game’s puzzles; some thought they were too simple. Some felt Big circle cracked the code of the movie tie-in game while others didn’t understand why it wasn’t just a movie. I have seen Big circle compared to Dishonored, Hitman, Uncharted and more. I’ve read a lot of reviews and feel like I have no idea how to do this, or at all Whatthe game is.

That’s great. There’s so much going on that Nathan and I posted on Bluesky practically at the same time about how much we love what’s happening here.

Two Bluesky contributions: The first by Riley MacLeod reads "I have to say I really like the diversity of the Indiana Jones review."The second text by Nathan Grayson reads: "I ironically love the level of variance in reviews of Indiana Jones. is it goty? Is it unplayable garbage that's only good when the cutscenes are playing? Are there too many cutscenes and is it only good if you control Indy directly? I really have no idea"

I’ve read thousands of words about it now Indiana Jones and the Great Circleand I have no idea if it’s a game for me, if I’ll like it, if it’s good at what it does, or if that’s exactly what it does in the first place. Everyone’s views are so exuberant everywhere that all I can say with certainty as a reader is that there is a video game and it has a guy with a whip in it. (Is the whip fun? People disagree!)

This not only makes me want to play the game, but also makes me want to read more reviews, even ones that haven’t been published yet. Keep it up.
