Green Bay Packers 10-22 Philadelphia Eagles: Jordan Love throws three interceptions in Packers playoff exit | NFL News

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs, earning a 22-10 victory.

The Eagles had four takeaways in the contest but only converted one into points – a Packers fumble on the first kickoff helped set up a touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts to Jahan Dotson three plays later.

Packers quarterback Jordan Love threw two weak interceptions in the second quarter, while Brandon McManus also failed on a fairly straightforward 38-yard field goal attempt for Green Bay.

Somehow, despite such glaring errors, the Packers trailed by just 10 points at halftime as a rusty Eagles offense – save for Saquon Barkley – failed to convert their dominance into a major advantage on the scoreboard.

Green Bay threatened to put the points back up in the second half but lost several offensive weapons due to injury, so their challenge soon faded and Philadelphia secured a home game in the divisional round next weekend.

Their opponents will be either the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or one of the Los Angeles Rams or Minnesota Vikings should the Bucs lose at home to the Washington Commanders on Sunday night.

The Rams’ meeting with the Vikings rounds out Wild Card Weekend on Monday evening. live on Sky Sports NFL from 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert scored a touchdown after pushing a Green Bay Packers defender out of the way with not one, but two stiff arms.

Philadelphia responded immediately and asserted its dominance as Dallas Goedert brutally tackled stiff Green Bay cornerback Carrington Valentine on his way to the end zone for a 24-yard TD not once, but twice.

Josh Jacobs responded to Goedert’s challenge with a furious run to end the third quarter. The Packers running back beat several Eagles defenders to the ground for a 32-yard pickup that set up his own goal-line score early in the fourth quarter.

At that point, it looked like the game was getting back on track as Green Bay trailed by just six, but with players like Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs sidelined midway through the game – in addition to the already missing Christian Watson the receiving corps – a The exciting finale could not ignite.

The Eagles pulled ahead of their opponents with two field goals from Jake Elliott before the contest was decided late in the game with a third interception from Love as the Packers’ desperation grew.

How do you beat Barkley?

Eagles running back Saquon Barkley: “I love it. A year ago I posted a tweet on my couch saying I need to play playoff football again, so I’m happy to be here shouting to my teammates.”

“The most important thing in the playoffs is to win and advance – no matter what it looks like. There are some things we can work on and improve.”

Jason Bell from Sky Sports NFL: “It was hard fought, both defenses showed their strength, but it was all about the turnovers – they were the key, especially in a hard-fought game like ours.”

“He (Barkley) deserves this, he is that attack, he gives them juice, gives them life. They understand that they’re depending on Saquon to get to the Super Bowl – how do you beat them when he’s rolling?”

Ndamukong Suh from Sky Sports NFL: “That’s why I played football with Philly again in 2022. There was an opportunity to return to the big dance and enjoy these moments. That’s why you play the game, to play in these big games.”

Phoebe Schecter from Sky Sports NFL: “Turnovers, penalties, setbacks across the board, you can see why (Packers head coach) Matt LaFleur was so frustrated with the team at the end. The Packers were pretty close the entire time, but it was a matter of who made fewer mistakes in that situation.”
