Greenbrier flag football wins second straight state title against North Oconee

ATLANTA – Greenbrier flag football defeated North Oconee 18-0 in the GHSA Division 2 state championships on Monday to win the state title for the second straight year.

Greenbrier got on the board after a sneaky fourth-and-goal rush from second-year running back Carrington Myers. The Wolf Pack was up 6-0 at the end of the first quarter.

North Oconee did not respond in the second quarter and almost Greenbrier scored again with a big pass to junior wide receiver Aaliyah Silver. She was marked just before the line and it turned around at downs. Titan freshman Elizabeth Patterson tackled the Wolfpack’s quarterback, but it was ruled incomplete when referees said the ball hit the ground at the same time as her.
