Hacks is gearing up for the fourth season of Max, and as we look ahead to its 2025 premiere, star Poppy Liu gave a sneak peek at what fans can expect from the return of her character Kiki.

As viewers will recall, Kiki is comedian Deborah Vance’s (Jean Smart) on-call blackjack dealer, and it looks like she’ll be back in action playing games like this, as TV Insider spoke to Liu about her role spoke in the Netflix dramedy Not a good deed. “It was really fun,” Liu said as he returned to set to film Hacks Season 4.

When it comes to what viewers can expect from her return, Liu teases, “I guess all I can say is that you’ll see Kiki behind a blackjack table in Las Vegas again.”

This information is definitely worth mentioning as viewers will remember that the comedian, who used to live in Las Vegas, landed a coveted role on late-night TV in Los Angeles. So what will bring Deborah, Ava (Hannah Einbinder) or other characters back to Vegas? Fans will have to wait and see.

As viewers will recall, Kiki, who had a larger role in Seasons 1 and 2, returned for a brief appearance in Season 3. Liu reveals that this was because she had recently given birth while filming Season 3. “I don’t think I would have done any other job 30 days after giving birth except Hackssimply because I love her. We have this shared history. I just knew I would be so well taken care of. They are family to me and in many ways like my TV family,” she says.

However, as far as Season 4 is concerned, this will mark Kiki’s return to the blackjack table after attending a fashion show for her Season 3 appearance. “I haven’t played Blackjack as Kiki in a minute,” Liu admits. “For Season 1, they had a blackjack trainer with me, and for (Season 4), the woman who runs the blackjack table, who is great, ended up helping us a lot with the blackjack continuity and really gave me a “Given a short briefing,” Liu recalls. “And maybe it’s muscle memory. I killed it. I still have it,” she muses.
