Harper Murray has his career night as Nebraska defeats Dayton in the Sweet 16

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska volleyball brought the Dayton Flyers back to the floor Friday night, beating them in four sets in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

The Huskers won 25-17, 25-18, 25-27, 25-13 at the Bob Devaney Center.

Top-seeded Nebraska recorded seven aces while outscoring No. 5 seed Dayton by 0.216% to 0.087%.

NU fell behind early and trailed the Flyers for most of the first set.

The Huskers took the lead for the first time with 14:13 and then pulled away with 4-0 and 6-0 scoring runs.

The second set was neck and neck until Nebraska scored five points in a row.

Things came to a close in the third set when Dayton won on a Husker attack error.

The Huskers dominated the fourth set, leading by 13 at one point.

Harper Murray led Nebraska with 22 kills, a career-best, and Rebekah Allick added 10. Murray also made four aces.

Lexi Rodriguez led with 22.

Nebraska will face No. 2 seed Wisconsin in the Elite Eight on Sunday.

The game starts at 2 p.m. and will be broadcast on Channel 8.
