Heavy rain showers will occur on Monday, becoming more frequent in the middle of the week

We have a few rainy days on deck this week. Monday will see patches of drenching rain across the region, with some moderate to heavy showers, and even a few rumbles of thunder possible. Most of Louisville and surrounding areas are expected to receive about an inch of rain on Monday. Tuesday will clear, skies will be mostly sunny and temperatures will be above average in the mid 50s. Another round of rain arrives on Wednesday, with cooler air and highs in the 40s. Thursday and Friday will finally be dry, with partly cloudy skies but cooler with highs in the lower 40s. Winter officially begins on Saturday, and it will feel like winter over the weekend, with highs only in the mid 30s.
