Heavy snow showers in Maryland

FORECAST WITH METEOROLOGIST DALENCIA JENKINS. Good morning everyone. IT WILL BE A COLD DAY. Bone chilling, brisk day with the wind and temperatures. So please dress in layers. I’m just saying this straight off the bat. And there might even be a few slippery spots on the road. So take your time out there too. Since we saw some snow yesterday, these back roads could get a little slippery. NOW THE NEXT SNOW CHANCE IS FINALLY ON OUR RADAR. If you look at it, here is the low pressure area. It is moving closer and closer to our region, but right now it is on the other side of the country. BUT IT’S STARTING TO DEVELOP AND WE CAN GET MORE INFORMATION ABOUT IT AS IT FOLLOWS OUR PATH. BUT THIS RIGHT HERE YOU SEE WAS YESTERDAY. IT HAS A QUITE SNOW IN SOME PLACES, ESPECIALLY IN THE WASHINGTON, DC AND DMV AREA. MY PEOPLE SENT IN A FEW PICTURES AND IT LOOKED PRETTY BEAUTIFUL DOWN THERE AND LIKE A WINTER WONDERLAND. HERE IN THE BALTIMORE SUBWAY. We even saw a few snow showers moving through, but right now we’re dry and just really cold out there. So again, please pack it up if you are traveling or planning to do so. TODAY, NOW 28 IN BWI MARSHALL, 30 IN TOWN, 26 IN ELLICOTT CITY, 28 IN FREDERICK, 27 IN WESTMINSTER. This is the actual temperature. Now take the wind into account. And even in the morning hours it’s a bit windy out there. FEELS MORE LIKE TEENS WHO ARE 17 YEARS OLD NOW, WHILE OUR FEELINGS ARE LIKE THE TEMPERATURE IN AND AT BWI. MARSHALL 19 AND DOWNTOWN 13. IN WESTMINSTER 15. IN FREDERICK, PARKTON LOOK AT 14. AND THEN AS YOU GO OUT TO THE WEST WE OF COURSE SEE COOLER TEMPERATURES THERE. SO IT FEEL LIKE ZERO IN FROSTBURG. NEGATIVE FOUR IN MCHENRY. NOW THE COLD WEATHER WILL LAST ALL DAY. OUR TEMPERATURES WILL STRUGGLE TO COME OUT OF THIS FREEZING MARK. BUT LOOK AT THIS. This is what you want to dress for. The purple temperatures here, temperatures in the teens all day long. That’s what it’s going to feel like because it’s going to be pretty breezy. So if we look at wind gusts of 30 miles per hour later this morning and then around midday, then we could see wind gusts of 30 to 35 miles per hour, even stronger in some places, with that wind tomorrow too it cold. REALLY IT WILL BE COLD ALL WEEKEND, SO KEEP THAT IN MIND IF YOU GO TO THE RAVENS GAME. At 430 they face the Cleveland Browns. Temperatures will be in the low 30s, but it will feel like the teens. So you definitely want to dress in layers. TONIGHT WE WILL BE IN THE TEENS WITH CLEAR SKIES. AND TOMORROW WILL BE A COLD DAY AGAIN. It may be less windy, but temperatures will now be in the 30s. The cold air this weekend prepares us for the next chance of some snow, which will be around for most of the day on Monday. I started around this midday hour and then didn’t leave until the afternoon or, excuse me, the evening. ON MONDAY. Temperatures remain below freezing, so 3 to 6 °C are in this range. It will stay like this pretty much all day. And it will actually be quite cold in the next few days and beyond. HERE’S A LOOK AT FUTURECAST. You see, there will be some snow showers across much of Maryland. NOW WE WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP AN EYE ON THE RAIN-SNOW LINE AND EVEN OUR chances of sleet here in the Baltimore Metro because that will lower our overall numbers. WE ALREADY SEE WINTER WEATHER WARNINGS THAT WON’T BECOME EFFECTIVE UNTIL TOMORROW EVENING, BUT THIS IS JUST AN INDICATOR THAT WE WILL HAVE SOME WEATHER WEATHER FOR THE NEXT DAYS. So start preparing now. Try to stay off the roads as we head into Monday. Check this out. THE AFTERNOON H
