Heidi Monday does her best to “focus on gratitude” after a fire destroys her family’s Los Angeles home.

Monday and husband Spencer Pratt lost their property As a fire spread across the Pacific Palisades on Tuesday, January 7th. The couple and their sons Gunner, 6, and Ryker, 13 months, were safely evacuated earlier that day.

“The craziest thing about packing up for a fire is your brain just goes crazy,” Monday, 38, shared via Instagram Stories on Wednesday, January 8. “You ask yourself, ‘What do I need?’ ‘What don’t I need?’ Packing up a house is so overwhelming. I mean, I only have two pairs of jeans and two shirts. I got so many more clothes for the kids.”

Still, she asked herself, “Why didn’t I grab more?”

As her eyes filled with tears, Montag said, “The main thing is that we’re safe. “Get out.” But in that moment, “you just panic and then part of you thinks, ‘I’m coming back.’ You know, “Of course I’ll come back to get all (our things).” So I pray for everyone else going through this and for all my friends and loved ones. Thank God we have our health and our children – and I know that. I just try to focus on gratitude. It just comes in waves.”

Pratt, 41, delivered early Wednesday a poignant message in the Instagram grid.

“The only positive sign I saw our house burned down “Our son’s bed was burned in the shape of a heart,” he wrote, releasing Ring camera footage of the child’s room.

He continued: “A sign of how much love there is in this home, so grateful for all the years and memories there with our family.”

Spencer’s sister, Stephanie Prattwas the first to confirm the news.

“I don’t know if it’s good to be in London or if I have to go back to LA. I can’t think clearly. What do I do? I’m honestly looking for advice. I’m in shock,” Stephanie, 38, wrote via Instagram late Tuesday. “How terrible for my sweet little nephews to see their house disappear like this. You must be so scared and confused.”

Over on her Instagram Story, Stephanie noted that she was “extremely heartbroken” for her brother and her family.

“I was just talking to my dad – he was trying to save my brother’s house but the wind was so strong. There was nothing he could do,” Stephanie added. “Even the fire station in the Palisades burned down. The Pacific Palisades are completely ablaze. Nobody is there.”

Stephanie further noted that the siblings’ parents were also “safely evacuated” before watching their own home burn down via security camera footage.

“My parents’ house is gone,” Spencer wrote via Instagram Stories on Wednesday, sharing a photo of the rubble and adding seven crying emojis.
