Here's how to track Santa Claus in Wisconsin on Christmas Eve

We’re counting down the days until Santa Claus comes down the chimney to leave presents under the Christmas tree.

In the run-up to the big day, several organizations will accompany Santa Claus’ journey around the world. Here’s how to follow Santa and his crew as they travel to Wisconsin for Christmas 2024:

How to Track Santa Claus This Christmas 2024:

The NORAD Tracks Santa website went live on December 1 and features Santa’s North Pole Village, which includes a holiday countdown, games and holiday music. The NORAD Tracks Santa app is also available in the Apple App and Google Play stores, and the tracker will also be available on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and X, according to NORAD.

The map, which follows Santa’s journey around the world, begins on Christmas Eve, December 24, from NORAD, a joint U.S.-Canada command responsible for protecting the skies over both nations. Visitors can watch Santa Claus’ flight on December 24th from 4 a.m. to midnight MST.

Trackers around the world can also call 1-877-HI-NORAD (1-877-446-6723) from 6 a.m. to midnight MST on December 24 to ask live operators for Santa’s location.

Tracking Santa Claus is something NORAD has been doing for decades. Legend has it that an ad in a Colorado Springs newspaper in 1955 encouraged children to call Santa Claus, but accidentally included the phone number for the Continental Air Defense Command, the predecessor of NORAD, which was also based in Colorado Springs.

NORAD isn’t the only one chasing Santa Claus. Google’s Santa tracker will also go live on December 24th.

The company’s Santa Claus tracker website is up and running and offers various holiday-themed games to play. There is also a countdown clock on the website that shows when the Santa tracker goes live.

When will Santa Claus be in Wisconsin for Christmas in 2024?

According to NORAD, Santa will fly over Wisconsin and around the world sometime between 9 p.m. and midnight, taking into account multiple time zones.

“We don’t know the exact route, but the story goes that Santa Claus only comes when the children are asleep,” said Captain Rebecca Garand.
