Here’s how to watch the 2024 Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony hosted by Kelly Clarkson

It’s time for it Rock around that Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center. That’s right, it’s time for the 2024 Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. This year’s 74-foot-tall spruce tree will be decorated with 50,000 multi-colored LED lights and a 900-pound Swarovski star top. The tree will be lit for the first time this Wednesday, December 4th Christmas at Rockefeller Center Special broadcast on NBC. Kelly Clarkson hosts and performs alongside the Backstreet Boys, Jennifer Hudson, the Radio City Rockettes and more big names.

This year’s tree lighting ceremony will take place on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.

The tree is lit during the annual NBC television broadcast Christmas at Rockefeller Center Special, airing 8-10 p.m. ET.

The Christmas at Rockefeller Center The special will air on NBC and stream live on Peacock.

Kelly Clarkson will host again Christmas at Rockefeller Center special, which will feature a number of artists including Clarkson, the Backstreet Boys, Dan + Shay, Megan Hilty, Jennifer Hudson, Coco Jones, Little Big Town, RAYE, Thali and the Radio City Rockettes.

NBC’s TODAY anchors Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, Al Roker and Craig Melvin will also appear at the tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center.

This year’s Rockefeller Christmas tree is a spruce tree from West Stockbridge, Massachusetts. The tree was planted in 1967 by Earl Albert and his late wife Leslie. It is 74 feet high and 43 feet wide. It will be adorned with 50,000 multi-colored LED lights and adorned with a 900-pound Swarovski star topper made up of 3 million crystals and 70 spikes.

For those who want to see the tree in person, Rockefeller’s Christmas Tree will be on display until mid-January 2025. The tree is lit between 5 a.m. and midnight every day except Christmas Eve, where it is lit for a full 24 hours.

After the tree is cut down, it is made into lumber for Habitat for Humanity.
