Here’s what she’ll be doing on Monday – and beyond, after her final show

Hoda Kotb has big plans for her life afterward Today.

Since 2018, co-host of the popular morning show (and co-host of Today with Hoda & Jenna)Kotb leaves the prestigious gig on January 10th. However, she is not retiring.

This is what she will do instead.

Kotb is starting her own wellness company

When she announced she was leaving in September, Kotb said she was looking into a business in the wellness space — and shared more details this week Kelly Clarkson Show.

“I’m starting a wellness app and a business that includes retreats and a podcast and everything so we can get together and do things that I love,” she said. “It’s not like going to Mexico with your girls, which is fun, but when you leave you’ll be like, ‘Oh my God.’ I feel transformed. I feel different.’”

She added: “I started doing things that seemed insane and strange to me. Then suddenly, as I was doing it, I thought, ‘Wait a minute, I feel calmer.’ I feel better.’ Woo-woo makes you feel good.”

Kotb said the company is still in development and is expected to launch in the spring.

Kotb remains at NBC in an unspecified role

When Kotb announced her departure, she said, “I plan to remain a part of the NBC family.” Her co-host Savannah Guthrie reiterated this on air, saying, “I need to let people know that they are the NBC Doesn’t leave family. You will see them and we will see them.”

Kotb has not yet elaborated on what her new role will be, but The New York Times reported in November that she “continues as a staff writer for (Today),” so expect to hear more about it.

Kotb will have a lot more time with her two daughters

The journalist later became a mother through adoption and is raising daughters Hope (5) and Haley (7). They recently moved from New York City to the suburbs of Westchester, where they love their new home and neighborhood.

Hoda said her 60th birthday last year caused her to reprioritize because she was missing time with her girls and they “need and deserve a bigger piece of my time pie.” For TodayShe was up at 3 a.m. and on set at 5:30 a.m., so she couldn’t take her kids to school or see them in the morning.

In her new life afterwards TodayKotb will wake up at 5:15 a.m. starting Monday and attend a SoulCycle class in her new city at 5:30 a.m. She will be home around 6:30 a.m. and give her children breakfast, she told Women’s Health. Then: “I’m going to take her to school with a Yeti cup full of coffee and cream in it. I’ll go home slowly.”

However, there won’t be much lazing around. After school, she will work on her business, she told Today.com. She also plans lunch dates with people who inspire her to express her creativity. She will also prioritize a daily walk. Then she picks up her girls from school.

Kotb said she will also make time for “journal writing, meditation (and) prayer.”

What’s next? Today?

After that epic farewell for the esteemed presenter, which saw her reunite with her sisters and blush over celebrity crush Blake Shelton, Craig Melvin will step into his role as her successor.

“He’s a serious journalist, but he’s also good company,” Kotb said of Melvin. “At this hour it is important to be in good company. When you have a bowl of cereal and coffee at home, it’s important to be in good company.”

As for them Hoda and Jenna An hour later, after saying goodbye to Kotb, Jenna Bush Hager will fly solo with a rotating group of special guests until a permanent successor is announced. The show is temporarily renamed Today with Jenna & Friends.

As of January 13, “Friends” includes Taraji P. Henson, Keke Palmer, Eva Longoria and Michelle Buteau. Scarlett Johansson – who is no stranger to 30 Rock where Today is based and where her husband Colin Jost performs Saturday Night Live – will guest host the entire week of January 20th.
