High-end homes in Greater Cincinnati targeted by thieves

Following Monday’s break-in at Joe Burrow’s home, WLWT has learned there have been a series of break-ins which are now being investigated by an organized crime task force. Homeowners in Anderson Township and Montgomery told WLWT that the thieves were quick and destructive. They break a window, grab valuables and disappear within minutes. The night after Thanksgiving, deputies with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home two miles from Burrow’s in Anderson Township. The homeowner shared photos with WLWT that show a back glass door was smashed. She said a bedroom was searched. The homeowner said she had just returned from dinner when the alarm company called. Last May in Montgomery, near the Indian Hill border, another homeowner also came home to find a broken sliding glass door. Drawers were pulled out of bedside tables and personal items were strewn across the floor. These burglaries, along with Burrow’s and other burglaries, are being investigated by the Southwest Ohio Burglary Task Force, led by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Indian Hill Police Department. BCI will not say how many burglaries are currently being investigated. They also won’t say whether they believe all the break-ins are related. WLWT has confirmed that two people have been charged in connection with the Montgomery break-in. Luis Ignacio and Damian Ernesto are charged with burglary and possession of criminal tools. According to an email from the prosecutor to the homeowner and court documents, the suspects live in Florida but are originally from Chile.

BCI does not want to say how many burglaries are currently being investigated. They also won’t say whether they believe all the break-ins are related.

WLWT has confirmed that two people have been charged in connection with the Montgomery break-in.
