The No. 3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish caught the No. 9 Indiana Hoosiers’ defense looking into the backfield in the red zone, and that left Notre Dame wide receiver Jayden Thomas open for an easy touchdown catch.

Struggling Irish quarterback Riley Leonard had no trouble completing the 5-yard throw.

The touchdown gave Notre Dame a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter and capped a 16-play, 83-yard drive with 9:08 remaining.
