Houston YouTuber faces kidnapping charges

Investigators said Corey Pritchett kidnapped two women and held them at gunpoint before releasing them on the side of the road on I-10 in the middle of the night.

HOUSTON – A YouTuber accused of kidnapping two women in Houston fled the country, saying he wanted to start a new life in Dubai, according to court documents.

Corey Pritchett, 26, is charged with aggravated kidnapping in connection with an incident in November. He has more than 1 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.

According to Houston Police Department investigators, Pritchett met with the two women on November 23rd. They trained together and then rode ATVs before heading to a bowling alley in the evening. The women said Pritchett began acting strangely at the bowling alley when he and his friends spotted another group they had had problems with in the past.

Pritchett ended up leaving, but the women had stuff in his car, so they had to meet him over on the west side of town. According to court documents, they were dropped off and got into Pritchett’s car after he offered to give them a ride home.

The women told investigators that Pritchett did not take them home, but instead got on I-10 and headed toward San Antonio. They said he told them he thought someone was after him because they thought he had set someone’s car on fire.

As they drove away from Houston at a high rate of speed, the women told investigators that Pritchett pulled out a handgun and threatened them. He also reportedly fired several shots out the window.

According to court documents, Pritchett called a woman on his phone and told her, “He had the perfect opportunity and drove into the middle of nowhere and no one could hear her screaming.” The women told investigators they believed he was going to kill them. The women said they had been texting each other throughout the ordeal, but when Pritchett realized they were communicating, he took their phones.

According to court documents, Pritchett stopped on I-10 in the Sealy area and asked the women to get out of his car. “This is your only chance,” he is said to have told them.

The women were left on the side of the road around 1:30 a.m. They said they walked for about an hour before someone stopped to help them.

Investigators said Pritchett’s phone was turned off and he posted on social media that he was leaving the country to start a new life in Dubai. According to the FBI, on December 9, he took a one-way ticket to Doha Airport in Qatar.
