How much snow will we get tomorrow? – NBC Boston

Holiday week is in full swing and weather wise it is definitely feeling like the “old fashioned” holidays!

Much of the region woke up Monday morning to low temperatures below 0 degrees and in the single digits, but that’s about it for the “freezing” air as we’ll see a slow upward trend for much of this week, with a shot for something Snow on Christmas Eve.

Monday afternoon will be cold, but not as cold as recent days as coastal thunderstorms and snow showers end over southeastern Massachusetts and the Cape. Cloud cover will increase and highs will reach the mid 20s.

How much snow will Mass., NH get?

Overnight clouds will thicken and snow showers and flurries will occur as a fast-moving Alberta Clipper dives through the region and makes a quick exit on the afternoon of Christmas Eve. Right now it doesn’t look like it will be too much of a problem in southern New England, with the highest snow totals expected to be in the 1 to 2 inch range in northern Massachusetts and New Hampshire. For the rest of the area, only a possible coating is to be expected.

Central and northern New England will see the most snow at 3 to 5 inches, with even more snow on the mountain peaks. Overall, we will keep an eye on this system for subtle changes, as forecasting models sometimes struggle with such systems.

Lows Monday evening will fall into the teens and 20s, with highs Tuesday mostly in the low to mid 30s.

The Christmas weather looks great, with lots of sunshine and cool temperatures. We will be watching for some coastal thunderstorms and snow showers to develop throughout the afternoon, but this appears to be mostly confined to the Cape at the moment. Highs will be in the low to mid 30s.

The rest of the holiday week will be characterized by dry and cool temperatures, weakening slightly each day and reaching highs of 30 to 40 degrees over the weekend.

I wish you a happy and safe holiday week!
