Amy Lynn Carter was born on October 19, 1967 in Plains Georgia to former President of the United States of America Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalynn Carter. She moved into the White House when she was just nine years old This makes her one of the youngest children to live there since John F. Kennedy’s children.

Amy Carter was born into a family that was very active in politics. Her father became governor of Georgia in 1970 and the family moved to Atlanta to live. But things changed in 1976 when her father was elected President of the United States.

During her years in the White House between 1977 and 1981, Amy was quite a popular figure. She attended public schools, which was not the norm for a president’s child at the time.
