Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars key moments

Parker Washington TD is allowed to stand

The piece: Parker Washington’s 2-yard touchdown catch was allowed to stand after review

After a Mason Rudolph interception, the Jaguars took a 10-0 lead when Parker Washington was found to have a two-foot deficit in the back of the end zone on a 2-yard touchdown catch early in the second quarter.

Washington definitely brought his left foot to a stop, but his right foot appeared to slip out as it hit the ground. But as CBS rules analyst Gene Steratore explained, the right foot was judged like a toe drag, in which the foot was considered down as soon as any part of it touched the green grass.

Explanation or not, the Jaguars led 10-0.

Nick Vannett brings the Titans to life to start the second half

The piece: Nick Vannett’s 8-yard touchdown catch capped the eight-minute drive and brought the Titans within three points

Tennessee opened the second half with a 13-play drive that spanned eight minutes and ended with an 8-yard touchdown catch by Nick Vannett after a nice play call by Brian Callahan that pushed Jacksonville’s lead to 13- 10 reduced.

Brian Thomas Jr. beats Jarvis Brownlee

The piece: Brian Thomas Jr.’s 11-yard touchdown catch extends the Jaguars’ lead to 20-10 with 7:05 to play

On third-and-long, Mac Jones throws a 1-on-1 ball to Brian Thomas Jr., who hits fellow rookie Jarvis Brownlee for the touchdown. Thomas finished the game with 91 receiving yards on seven catches and the score.

When the team needed a stop in the second half, Tennessee’s defense fell behind again.

Antonio Johnson knocks down the fourth down pass and secures the victory for the Jags

The piece: Antonio Johnson breaks up Mason Rudolph’s pass

The Titans got one last chance to push for a game-winning touchdown drive, and the Titans moved inside the Jaguars’ 30-yard line with less than a minute to play. But Mason Rudolph finished the game with four straight incompletions, including a late throw to an open Nick Westbrook-Ikhine on fourth down to turn the ball over on downs with nine seconds left.
