To file a claim, all you need to do is fill out the FTC’s official form online. The form requires people to apply with a previously obtained claim number or your Epic account ID. You must be at least 18 years old to fill out the form. (Those under 18 can ask a parent or guardian to fill out the form for them.) The FTC has set a deadline for filing claims before January 10, 2025.

According to the FTC FAQ, the agency expects to “make additional payments in 2025” after “reviewing and validating all claims.” Those who opted to pay via PayPal will accept payment within 30 days and those who opted for the check must cash it within 90 days.

In the 2022 case, the FTC claimed this Fortnite violated the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and “used design tricks called dark patterns to trick millions of players into making unintended purchases.” These payments apply to those who unintentionally made in-game purchases Fortnite.
