How to Watch ESPN+ on Disney+ – Frequently Asked Questions

Starting December 4, 2024, Disney+ subscribers can access the new ESPN tile directly in the Disney+ app, giving them access to the ESPN+ sports content they love, including select live games, movies and other sports programming from the world leader provider.

Are you confused about how to access the content and what is available? Below are some frequently asked questions.

What do I need to watch ESPN+ on Disney+?

To access ESPN+ content on Disney+, you need the following:

  • A Disney+ subscription

  • Access ESPN+ through a Disney Bundle Trio or a linked standalone ESPN+ subscription

  • Make sure the email address associated with your ESPN account matches the one you use with your Disney+ account

  • A supported streaming device

  • A high-speed internet connection

How do I access ESPN+ on Disney+?

To access ESPN+ on Disney+, please follow these steps:

  1. Open the Disney+ app or website

  2. Select the ESPN icon on the Disney+ homepage to access the ESPN hub

You can also find ESPN+ content by using the search function or browsing the various rows on the Disney+ homepage.

What ESPN+ content is available on Disney+?

Subscribers with a linked standalone ESPN+ subscription or Disney Bundle Trio subscription receive access to select ESPN+ content in the Disney+ app. Expect college football, hockey, baseball, tennis, soccer, mixed martial arts, college sports and more ESPN films and originals.

If you do not have an ESPN+ subscription, you will only have access to a limited selection of ESPN+ sports content from time to time.

NOTE: Pay-per-view events and the MLB.TV add-on cannot be purchased or viewed on the Disney+ app.

Can I watch ESPN+ content on Disney+ without an ESPN+ subscription?

Subscribers without a linked standalone ESPN+ subscription or Disney Bundle Trio subscription will only have access to a limited selection of ESPN+ sports content from time to time.

Can I purchase/watch ESPN+ Pay-Per-View events on Disney+?

Subscribers with a linked standalone ESPN+ subscription or Disney Bundle Trio subscription must purchase PPV events – such as UFC or Top Rank Boxing – through ESPN+. Likewise, purchased PPV events must be streamed via the ESPN app.

How can I watch live sports on Disney+?

To see what sports are currently playing live and view upcoming events, select the ESPN tile on the Disney+ app home page. Please note that only subscribers with Disney+ and ESPN+ subscriptions (either individually or through Disney Bundle Trio) will have access to the full ESPN+ lineup of events, replays and on-demand content.

Here’s a preview of some of the sports you can find on Disney+ with a Disney+ and ESPN+ subscription:

  • MLB

*Subscribers with a linked standalone ESPN+ subscription or Disney Bundle Trio subscription must purchase PPV events – such as UFC or Top Rank Boxing – through ESPN+. Likewise, purchased PPV events must be streamed via the ESPN app.

If you miss a live event, you can also stream replays of most live events via the ESPN Hub. If you have added the live event to your watchlist, you can also access the recording of this event directly from your watchlist.

Please note that not all events in these leagues are included in your subscriptions and some events may be subject to regional blackouts depending on your location.

What other sports content is available on Disney+ with ESPN+?

The sports experience doesn’t end with the game – if you’re a real fan, you should also listen to what the experts have to say. ESPN+ on Disney+ offers a variety of sports talk shows, movies, and other on-demand sports programming. Please note that only subscribers with Disney+ and ESPN+ subscriptions (either individually or through Disney Bundle Trio) will have access to this on-demand ESPN+ content on Disney+.

Do blackout restrictions apply to ESPN+ content on Disney+?

ESPN+ on Disney+ offers a wide selection of out-of-market games from major leagues – including the NHL and MLB. However, select live sporting events and other content available through ESPN+ may be subject to suspension if a participating team is considered in-market for your location.

For example, if you attempt to watch a game involving an in-market team – even if the game is nationally televised – the game may be blocked from streaming on ESPN+ (or other appropriate third-party services).

Blocking times are determined by different sports leagues and teams and are enforced depending on the location from which you access the content. You must enable Location Services to access ESPN+ content on Disney+.

What happens if my ESPN+ subscription is not linked to my Disney+ subscription?

If you are unable to access ESPN+ sports content on Disney+, it may be because your ESPN+ subscription is not properly linked to your Disney+ subscription. If you have a standalone ESPN+ subscription, you may need to link that ESPN+ subscription to your Disney+ subscription. To do this, you’ll need to make sure the email address associated with your ESPN account matches the one you use with your Disney+ account. Once the subscriptions are linked, you should be able to access Disney+ on ESPN+. Please note that not all ESPN+ content is available on the Disney+ app, such as: B. Pay-per-view events and other add-ons. If you can’t find the ESPN+ content you’re looking for, go to the ESPN app to get full access to ESPN+. Please note that you will not be able to stream ESPN+ content on Disney+ if your payment for your Disney Bundle, Disney+ or ESPN+ subscription has not processed.
