Longtime Southwest Conference foes Texas Tech and Arkansas meet again in the Liberty Bowl. The game is a virtual odds competition that could lead to an exciting duel.

How to watch Texas Tech vs. Arkansas

Arkansas finished the regular season 6-6 and in many ways embodies a 6-6 season. The Razorbacks were only able to back up a victory with another win once, which led to many ups and downs.

Arkansas played seven games against teams that were ranked at the time of the Razorbacks’ game, although only four of those ranked teams entered the bowl season. The Razorbacks’ big win came against a playoff team in Tennessee, but that didn’t spark any momentum at all. Arkansas lost by 24 points at home to LSU the following week and lost four of the final six games of the season.

Coach Sam Pittman started the season a bit on the hot seat after going 4-8 in 2023. Going 6-6 in 2024 wasn’t enough in either direction to get him off the hot seat. Questions remain about Pittman’s long-term future.

Pittman has a dangerous dual-threat quarterback in Taylen Green, who replaced three-year starter KJ Jefferson, who transferred to UCF. Green, a junior who transferred from Boise State, threw for 13 touchdowns and seven more this season.

Green faces a Texas Tech defense that has allowed at least 35 points seven times. Despite these defensive efforts, the Red Raiders still managed eight wins thanks to an offense that gave up more than 40 points five times. It appears that the spirit of Mike Leach still lives on in Texas Tech football.

Behren Morton is the latest Tech quarterback to rack up numbers with 3,335 passing yards (13th in the country) and 27 touchdowns (12th in the country). Running back Tahj Brooks is eighth in the country with 1,505 rushing yards.

Arkansas has a 29-8 lead in the all-time series, although Texas Tech has won three of the four meetings since 1990.
