BOSTON –

The Bruins are currently on a six-game losing streak, their longest since 2019.

They had a tough time last week, struggling to score and playing from the back.

Their last loss came on Thursday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Lightning took a 2-0 lead in the second period and never looked back. The Bruins finally made it onto the field in the third and the score was 2-1, but Tampa quickly scored two more goals to hand Boston a 4-1 loss.

Earlier this week, the Bruins were booed off their own ice after a 4-0 loss to the Edmonton Oilers.

Next up is a big challenge for the Bruins, who are 20-19-5 (45 points). They will face the defending Stanley Cup champions, the Florida Panthers, on their home ice.

The Panthers have had a better season so far and are in second place in the Atlantic Division at 25-15-2, which is good for 52 points.

Entering Saturday, the Panthers lead the season series 2-0-0.

Florida also edged out the Bruins in the second round of last season’s playoffs, leaving Boston looking for revenge.
