Everyone’s favorite serial killer is back in a new series – and this time we get to delve into his angsty younger years.

Dexter: Original Sin is set to premiere this month and looks at the earlier years of Dexter Morgan and his growing bloodlust. Starring Patrick Gibson as young Dexter (originally played in his older form by Michael C. Hall in the 2006-2013 “Dexter” series), the series is set in 1991 Miami, where Dexter lives with his sister Debra (Molly Brown), played by Jennifer Carpenter in the original series) and Harry, Dexter’s adoptive father and homicide detective (Christian Slater, originally James Remar), in what initially appears to be a typical domestic setting be lucky.

However, as the series progresses, viewers will watch as Dexter falls into his serial killing habits.

Fans can also look forward to the return of participating characters both on screen and behind the scenes, including Panama hat-wearing police officer Angel Batista (James Martinez) and original executive producer and writer Clyde Phillips.

Dexter’s skyrocketing popularity has spurred spin-off series, including the limited series “Dexter: New Blood” and the upcoming “Dexter: Resurrection.”

“Dexter: Original Sin” premieres Friday, December 13th on Paramount+ with Showtime and Sunday, December 15th at 10pm ET/PT on the Showtime cable channel.
