Back to the big stage.

The Colorado State volleyball team is participating in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019. The Rams finished as Mountain West champions (both in the regular season and in the conference tournament).

Now it’s time to head to Tempe, Arizona for the postseason.

Here’s what you should know about CSU’s first-round game against Texas A&M on Friday. Plus, a look at what would happen next if the Rams win:

What you should know about the CSU

The Rams are 20-10 and Mountain West champions. It’s the first NCAA Tournament since 2019 and the Rams haven’t won an NCAA Tournament game since 2017. The Rams appeared in 25 consecutive NCAA Tournaments until the streak ended after 2019.

CSU’s Malaya Jones is the Mountain West Player of the Year and ranks fourth nationally with 541 kills, a school record.

Setter Emery Herman is in her second year as a Ram after transferring from Arizona and ranks eighth nationally with 1,247 assists.

CSU played six games against non-conference Power 4 opponents and went 1-5.

What you should know about Texas A&M

The Aggies have a 19-7 record and were ranked fifth in the SEC, finishing at No. 6 (32 of the 64 teams in the tournament are seeded. CSU is unseeded).
