How to watch “Yellowstone” Season 5, Episode 14, Series Finale

After six years on the air, “Yellowstone” comes to an end with the fifth season finale.

Co-created by Taylor Sheridan, the show premiered in June 2018 and introduced fans to the Dutton family of Montana, owners of one of the largest ranches in the country.

The drama of the productive family includes complex relationships, a lot of violence and, ultimately, the murder of their patriarch.

Part 2 of Season 5 premiered on November 10 after a nearly two-year hiatus and explained how the series says goodbye to John Dutton, played by Kevin Costner. The episode’s opening moments revealed John’s death, and the second half of season five followed how his family copes with his loss and the future of their family’s ranch.

The final episode of Season 5, Episode 14, announces a solution that may come at a price. The episode synopsis titled “Life is a Promise” states: “As the Duttons and the Yellowstone cowboys lay John to rest, the fate of the ranch is revealed.”

A promo for the episode reveals that Kayce (Luke Grimes) and Beth (Kelly Reilly) will bring their father’s body home as he continues an ongoing war with his brother Jamie (Wes Bentley).

Is this really the end of “Yellowstone”?

Part 2 of Season 5 was originally announced as the end of “Yellowstone.” However, some fans are hoping for a possible sixth season or a spin-off featuring some of the series’ most popular characters.

Beth’s Kelly Reilly told Town & Country in November that she was still “interested” in exploring her character’s story.

“I’m definitely interested in Beth and who she is after some things happened. Who is she in peace? As an actor, you think, ‘Ooh, let me do that,'” Reilly said. “Wouldn’t it be fun to watch Beth go to therapy?”

The Western has already given rise to several spin-offs, including “1883” and “1923,” as well as the still-in-development films “1944” and “The Madison.”
