Howard family brings Hollywood legacy to MegaCon Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – They’re known for making movies a family affair, so it’s only fitting that members of one of Hollywood’s most famous acting families come together at MegaCon Orlando.

MegaCon announced Tuesday that actor and director Ron Howard will appear at the Orlando convention alongside his brother, actor Clint Howard, and daughter, actor and director Bryce Dallas Howard.

According to MegaCon, this will be the first time the Howards have appeared together at a convention.

Veteran actor Rance Howard’s sons, Ron and Clint, initially found success as child actors appearing in series such as Happy Days. Ron’s other major acting roles include Opie Taylor on The Andy Griffith Show, with Clint also appearing on the sitcom.

In 1977, Ron Howard made his directorial debut with the comedy Grand Theft Auto. With films like “Cocoon,” “Apollo 13” and “A Beautiful Mind,” he became one of Hollywood’s most respected filmmakers. Clint Howard was cast in many of his brother’s films, including Parenthood, Cinderella Man and Backdraft.

Bryce Dallas Howard continues her family’s legacy and has appeared in The Village, the Jurassic World series and Lady in the Water, among others. She has recently found success in her work behind the camera, directing episodes of the Star Wars television series The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.

MegaCon is one of the largest annual pop culture conventions in the Southeastern United States, celebrating comics, games, movies, films, animation, cosplay, and all things nerd culture. Last year up to 180,000 people attended the show.

Other actors announced so far include Matt Smith, Alicia Silverstone, Dolph Lundgren and Millie Bobby Brown.

MegaCon Orlando will take place February 6-9 at the Orange County Convention Center. For ticket information click here.
