Jackman, who announced their split with his ex-wife Deborra-lee Furness in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage, was relaxed and upbeat as he and Foster enjoyed their evening. The Tony Award-winning actress and singer filed for divorce from husband Ted Griffin in October after 10 years of marriage.

Representatives for Jackman and Foster had no immediate comment on the outing.

On Saturday, January 4, Jackman attended one of Foster’s final performances Once upon a time there was a mattress at the Ahmanson Theater in Los Angeles. He was joined in the audience by Carol Burnett, who played Foster’s role in the original 1959 production.

In photos published by DeuxMoi, a smiling Jackman is seen holding his cell phone toward Burnett, 91, as he sits next to her in the theater and the rest of the audience looks on at this special moment. Burnett gave the crowd a kiss and wave.

Foster and Jackman, who starred in the 2022 revival of the hit Music manhave talked a lot about each other and their collaboration on the classic musical, which ran on Broadway from December 2021 to January 2023.

When speaking to PEOPLE at the 2024 Drama Desk Awards in June, Foster shared, “He’s one of the greatest guys of all time, an incredible co-star.” During a joint appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers to promote Music man In May 2022, the actress said, “The show is so joyful and I’m having the time of my life acting alongside this guy.”

For his part, Jackman admitted he was intimidated by Foster’s talent and stellar resume. “This is a six-time Tony nominee and two-time winner. For example, I saw her sing “Thoroughly Modern Millie” when you were about 4 years old. But I saw everything she did,” Jackman, a Tony winner himself, said during their joint late-night appearance. “It’s amazing.”

Both have been through the breakup of their respective marriages in recent years. According to court records reviewed by PEOPLE, Foster filed for divorce from Griffin, 54, a screenwriter, in New York County Superior Court on Oct. 22.

Jackman and Furness, 69, who met on the set of the Australian television series Correlli and married on April 11, 1996, announced their separation in September 2023.

The former couple gave an exclusive statement to PEOPLE at the time, saying, “We were fortunate to spend nearly three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey is now changing and we have decided to part ways to continue our individual growth.”

“Our family has always been and will always be our top priority,” they added in part. “We approach this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness. We thank you very much for your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition throughout our lives.”

Next up for Jackman is a return to the stage for a series of live concerts at Radio City Music Hall. The shows, titled “From New York, with Love,” begin January 24 and run throughout 2025.
