Hulk Hogan is heavily booed during WWE Raw’s Netflix debut

It wasn’t a hero’s welcome for Hollywood Hulk.

WWE legend Hulk Hogan made a surprise appearance on Netflix’s Monday Night Raw in Los Angeles this week – but was met with boos during his speech while addressing the crowd.

The 72-year-old Hulkster entered the fan-packed Intuitive Dome in Inglewood to his classic walk-out song “Real American,” donning a shirt from his Real American Beer brand alongside his longtime on-screen manager Jimmy Hart.

Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, tried to rouse the unruly crowd by talking about his legacy in the wrestling business and calling fans the “greatest tag team partner” he has had in his long career had a career.

“You, the fans, have been my best tag team partner because you have stuck with me through the thick and thin,” Hogan said as he was drowned out by boos.

The retired professional wrestler then promoted his brand Real American Beer.

“You know, I just got a new tag team partner. I have Hulk Hogan’s Real American Beer that I concocted,” he shouted into the microphone.

“And in the past I’ve had a fair number of partners across the board. I’ve had incredible partners like macho man Randy Savage. I had huge partners, like Andre the Giant.”

However, the Hulkster told the audience that he was watching history being made with the “greatest partner WWE has ever had.”

“But the greatest partner WWE has ever had is the fact that we’re making history tonight and WWE has teamed up with Netflix, the greatest tag team partner of all time,” said Hogan, still loud was booed by the audience as he finished his speech to his iconic walkout music.

Just hours before the start of Raw, WWE announced a multi-year partnership with Real American Beer in a press release.

“Well, let me tell you something, bro! From the first time I stepped into the ring, I have always fought for something bigger than myself,” Hogan said.

“I’m thrilled to bring Real American Beer into the ring with WWE. Together we’ll bring that pride to America, one beer, one match at a time, bro!”

Hogan began his wrestling career in 1977.

By the early 1980s he had become the face of the WWF (World Wrestling Federation) and his role in the ring quickly made him an American icon.

During his career, he won the WWF Championship five times and became the first wrestler to win consecutive Royal Rumble matches in 1990 and 1991.

Hogan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame again in 2005 and 2020.
