Hulk Hogan was booed during his promotional appearance on the Netflix debut of WWE RAW from Los Angeles

The debut of WWE Raw on Netflix brought superstars to Los Angeles, from Gabriel Iglesias and Vanessa Hudgens to The Rock, John Cena (to enter the Royal Rumble) and The Undertaker. However, WWE didn’t just settle for these performers and went for even more nostalgia by releasing the “Hulkamania” version of Hulk Hogan alongside “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart. However, this may have been a miscalculation because as soon as Hogan walked out, he was greeted with very loud boos from the LA crowd.

Even as Michael Cole said WWE wouldn’t be on Netflix “without this man” and Hogan himself cheered, the boos continued to rain down, so much so that Netflix’s subtitle read: “(People booing).” Fans against Hogan over the last decade after the former WWE Champion’s racist comments were revealed, the reaction probably could have been predicted.

Hogan was there to officially announce his new sponsorship deal with WWE via his Real American Beer, complete with his logo on the wrestling mat. As part of the multi-year partnership, WWE will become a minority owner of the company. However, the fans at the Intuit Dome didn’t seem to care and let Hogan (and WWE) know this by booing him throughout his announcement and eventually leaving the venue.
