Husker Volleyball flies to the Elite 8 after defeating Dayton

Nebraska volleyball went head-to-head with Dayton at the Devaney Center on Friday. The Flyers had an early lead, but a big swing from Harper Murray starts to shrink that lead. Andi Jackson gave the Huskers a 15-14 lead in the first set. A 6-0 run ended the first set and was ended by a kill from Murray. Nebraska won the first set 25-17. An ace from Lexi Rodriguez opened up the first set and the Huskers built a 7-3 lead in the second set. Two consecutive aces from Murray gave the Huskers a 19-14 lead in the second set. Another one! A long goal by the Flyers gave the Huskers the lead. Nebraska won the second set 25-18. Merritt Beason and Rebekah Allick got Nebraska on the board first. The Flyers pulled past the Huskers to force a Nebraska timeout. In the third set it was a draw with 14 players. In an exciting third set, Dayton was able to win 27:25. Allick got the Huskers on the board first in the fourth set. Rodriguez , Jackson and Bergan Reilly gave the Huskers a 9-4 lead. Jackson scored the match point in the far corner. Nebraska won the third set 25-13 to win the game and advance to the NCAA Tournament.
