Robert Lewandowski was once again the best player of the night as Barcelona secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Brest in the Champions League.

The Poland international scored two goals on the night, joining the elite group of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo on the list of players with at least 100 Champions League goals.

Lewandowski on reaching 100 UCL goals

Speaking to the media after the game (h/t Mundo Deportivo), Lewandowski expressed his joy at reaching the record 100 Champions League goals.

“Years ago I wouldn’t have thought that I would score my 100th goal in the Champions League” said the striker, who is still going strong even at the age of 36.

“It’s good to have your name next to Cristiano and Messi. I’m very happy, I didn’t think I would score so many goals in the Champions League.” added Lewandowski, whose current UCL goal tally stands at 101 after the brace against Brest.

Lewandowski on the Brest victory

Lewandowski also spoke about Barcelona’s performance against Brest, particularly praising the team’s mentality and positive dynamics.

“We played as a team, sometimes slowly, but with patience. The important thing is that we still have three points. We don’t just have to look at the Champions League, but also at the league. “We know that we have to play 100 percent every game.” he said.

“For me the most important thing is to win every game. Scoring a goal is the key to victory, but you have to win every game until the end of the year.” the striker added.

Finally, the Pole also spoke about Pedri and Marc Casado, praising their potential and how a little team rotation can bring about success.

“Pedri and Casado have great quality, all the players have quality. We also need a bit of rotation. There are a lot of games this season and no matter who we play, we just want to win.” he concluded.
