KSBW spoke with several people who said they were shopping at stores in the Scotts Valley area Saturday afternoon when they went outside and saw a tornado.

KSBW spoke with several people who said they were shopping at stores in the Scotts Valley area Saturday afternoon when they came outside and saw a tornado: “To be honest, I thought this was the end of my life could. That was it. “Strong,” said Bob Wolfe. “That was the strongest wind I’ve ever seen and experienced in my life, and I thought the car was going to completely flip over.” “I heard someone yell, ‘There’s a tornado,’ so I ran out the window. “You see, and there were things flying around, people screaming, cars making a lot of noise,” said Chloe Kent. The witnesses immediately focused on making sure everyone was safe “I thought: ‘Dad, we have to meet people help,'” Kent said. “So my dad and I sprinted out of Target, and we helped this lady out of her car, and we made sure to put pressure on her head because she was bleeding, and then I started up “We wanted to make sure people were OK,” said Amber Merriman. According to Scotts Valley Police, five people were injured. Four of those people were released from the hospital dismissed. Luckily no one was killed. “We had multiple back injuries, a lot of cuts, scrapes and bruises from the vehicles overturning,” said Capt. Jason Rutherford. “Some of them had their roofs caved in and they were trapped inside.” Surveys, trees, stores and several Pacific Gas and Electric Company cars were damaged by flying debris. Six cars were overturned and Target and McDonald’s signs were destroyed.

“To be honest, I thought this might be the end of my life. It was so powerful,” Bob Wolfe said. “It was the strongest wind I have ever seen or experienced in my life and I thought the car was going to completely overturn.”

“I heard someone screaming, ‘There’s a tornado,’ so I ran to the window to look and there were things flying around, people screaming, cars making a lot of noise,” Chloe Kent said.

Witnesses immediately focused on making sure everyone was safe.

“I thought, ‘Dad, we have to help people,'” Kent said. “So my dad and I sprinted out of Target, and we helped this lady out of her car, and we made sure to put pressure on her head because she was bleeding, and then I went looking for her dogs after the emergency services came and helped her.”

“We wanted to make sure people were OK. We saw the downed poles across the street, and then there were broken trees, so we definitely thought, ‘Is everyone OK?'” Amber Merriman said.

According to Scotts Valley police, five people were injured. Four of those people were released from the hospital. Luckily no one was killed.
