We warm up past the freezing mark on Saturday afternoon. IT WILL NOT BE A PROBLEM ANYMORE. However, there will always be showers, so make sure you have that umbrella with you. Further showers are forecast for Sunday, and then steady rain, particularly in the early hours of the morning, looking ahead to Monday. A winter weather advisory is in effect for much of Massachusetts as freezing drizzle sets in overnight into Saturday. “When it arrives, it will be cold enough that some of the rain will stick on contact,” StormTeam meteorologist David Williams said. “So we’re going to be talking about a light freezing rain event, particularly for central and western Massachusetts, between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m..”Info: Futurecast | traffic | Map RoomThe National Weather Service said the warning covers most of western, central and northeastern Massachusetts, where freezing rain and a layer of ice are expected. There could be very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges, which could create dangerous travel conditions. Drivers should slow down and exercise caution when driving.
