FORECAST WITH METEOROLOGIST TONY PANN. Well, as we mentioned at the top of the show, it could be a little icy tomorrow morning. But if you’re going on vacation tonight and this morning, you don’t have to worry about it. It’s just cold. THIS MORNING TEMPERATURES ARE STARTING IN THE TEENS. WE ONLY MADE IT INTO THE LOW 30’S. At BWI there are still only 30. MARSHALL. SOUTHEAST WIND AT SEVEN MILES PER HOUR. Temperatures will not be as cold as last night, but they will still drop to 20°C and stay at that 20°C until the next system. We talked about the arrival. AND THAT IS THE PROBLEM. 29 IN WESTMINSTER. The same goes for Chestertown. 30 IN FORT MEADE WILL BOTTOM IN THE MID 20S TONIGHT. HERE’S THE SYSTEM THAT WILL BRING US A LITTLE SNOW AND ICE. It doesn’t look like much. And this won’t be a giant snow machine. BUT A LITTLE ICE CREAM IS A BIG DEAL. Even if we only get a little snow, anyone can drive through it. But the ice could be a problem. AND AS THIS SYSTEM COMES INTO THE COLD AIR, THERE IS A WEATHER WARNING FOR WINTER, BASICALLY FOR THE ENTIRE AREA UNTIL LATE MORNING AND TOMORROW AFTERNOON. LET US TRACK IT ON FUTURECAST AND TELL YOU WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN WE START EARLY TOMORROW. This is 4:00 a.m. WHEN YOU’RE UP VERY EARLY. I don’t think you need to worry about it, but by 5:00 or 6:00 in the morning there will be light snow in the area passing north of us. I’m thinking north and west of Baltimore. And there could be some minor snow accumulation at first. But freezing rain or sleet should occur later in the morning. THIS IS SHOWN HERE IN THIS SHADE OF PINK. And again, a little bit of snow isn’t a big deal, but a little bit of ice is. Therefore, it could be slippery on untreated surfaces. Roads not being treated and stuff like that. So keep that in mind. BUT HERE’S THE GOOD NEWS. Temperatures will warm up fairly quickly. I believe temperatures will be above freezing by late morning. Therefore, any ice that develops should melt fairly quickly. The sun might even come out in the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the high 30s and low 40s and we do not expect any problems for Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. CLEAR TO PARTLY CLOUDY TONIGHT. Temperatures will drop back to 20°C. IT WILL BE DRY ALL NIGHT TONIGHT. If you travel during the day tomorrow, there is a chance of light snow, sleet, freezing rain or icy conditions for a while and then temperatures will rise to the upper 30s and lower 40s. EVERYTHING WILL MELT, AND YOU MAY EVEN GET A LITTLE SUNSHINE LATE IN THE DAY. SEVEN DAY FORECAST. It looks like it will stay dry on Christmas Day. COOL AT TIMES WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 41°C. THERE IS A CHANCE OF LIGHT SNOW OR FLOWER ON THURSDAY, WITH HIGHS IN THE UPPER 30S TO AROUND 40°C. CALM WEATHER ON FRIDAY AND AFTER THAT WE HAVE A LOT OF RAIN, NO SNOW, WHICH WE TALK ABOUT AS WE DRIVE INTO THE WEEKEND.
