If you have YouTube TV, your monthly subscription will increase

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KCTV) – YouTube TV customers have been paying more than $70 a month to enjoy their entertainment. From January onwards they will have to spend even more money.

The streaming service announced Thursday morning that the monthly price for a basic plan will increase to $82.99 starting January 13, 2025.

The company cited “the rising cost of content and the investments we are making in the quality of our services” as the reason for the increase.

YouTube TV had increased its base price from $64.99 to $72.99 in March 2023.

They released the following statement to subscribers:

YouTube TV has always worked hard to bring you the content you love, the way you want, with features that make it easy for you to enjoy the best of live TV.‌

To keep pace with the increasing cost of content and the investments we are making in the quality of our service, starting January 13, 2025, we are updating our monthly price from $72.99/month to $82.99/month.

We do not make these decisions lightly and recognize that this impacts our members. We’re committed to bringing you features that change the way we watch live TV, like unlimited DVR storage and multiview*, and YouTube’s content diversity and extensive on-demand library of movies and shows to support TV.‌

The price of your YouTube TV Basic Plan membership will change in your first billing cycle on or after January 13, 2025 and will be charged to your payment method on file. To view your current plan, go to Settings > Membership for updated information. If you are currently using a trial or promotional price for the basic plan, that promotion will continue to apply and remain unchanged.

We hope YouTube TV remains your preferred service, but we understand that some of our members may wish to cancel their subscriptions. As always, family managers have the option to pause or cancel the process at any time. For more information, see our Help Center.‌
