Indiana Basketball has another week to prepare for Big Ten play, starting with a visit from Sam Houston State on Tuesday, December 3rd.

The Hoosiers (5-2) had a tough week in the Bahamas, starting with significant losses to Louisville and Gonzaga. In the final they achieved a convincing victory over Providence. Trey Galloway’s recovery from offseason knee surgery appears to be complete, leading to a revitalization of the offense against the Friars. Kanaan Carlyle missed this game due to injury. Myles Rice struggled (3.7 points, 16% shooting).

The Bearkats (4-4) played one game against a power conference opponent and were eliminated by Baylor. Sam Houston picked up a win over Colgate. Senior guard Lamar Wilkerson led the Bearkats in scoring in five of their last six games. Sam Houston State is willing to take risks, which means getting a lot of steals (7.3) while allowing a lot of easy baskets (opponents shooting 47.7%). The Bearkats are making 43.8% of their 3-point shots.
