Infamous troll Elon Musk has been criticized for calling for more “positive, beautiful” content on his social media platform

Elon Musk has been criticized for demanding that people share more “positive, beautiful or informative” content on social media platform X.

The billionaire was branded a “hypocrite” over demand and accused of turning the platform he acquired in October 2022 into a “cesspool.”

One of his posts during the presidential election included a “joke” about how “no one is trying to assassinate President Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris after the second assassination attempt on Donald Trump,” which he later deleted.

“Please post a little more positive, beautiful or informative content on this platform,” Musk told his 209 million followers on Sunday evening.

While some X users responded with videos of sunsets and tranquil landscapes, many quickly called out the Tesla CEO.

His rival Mark Cuban simply replied: “You first.”

“Too late. They created this cesspool,” another person commented. “It’s yours. Hypocrite.”

“I do, but it’s not being watched,” someone else said. “One-liners, stupid questions and tantrums still beat anything positive. Maybe change the algorithm first?”

Others highlighted that Musk recently used the platform to support the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD), saying that “only the AfD can save Germany.”

“You just supported the German neo-Nazi party,” another person said. “Maybe you should sit this one out, Elon.”

“Sure…” said another X user, who shared a recent rant posted by Musk just days earlier. Musk recently vowed to go to “war” over the issue of H-1B visas for skilled workers, telling a critic on X to go fuck himself in the face.

Trump has sided with Musk in the feud over H-1B visas that has divided the right in recent days. Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are in trouble for a series of social media posts on the issue.

The two, who will lead the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency, are strong supporters of the H-1B visa program, which allows U.S. companies to recruit highly skilled workers who want to live in the United States

This program, and other similar visa programs for farmworkers and immigrants in other sectors of the U.S. economy, are in the sights of Steve Bannon, Stephen Miller, and the immigration hardliners of the MAGA world, who are pushing to end or severely restrict these programs.

Ramaswamy, his “DOGE” co-captain, sparked a wave of racist rhetoric against Indian-Americans and Indians in general on Twitter after he wrote a post suggesting that US culture was a factor, companies took into account when deciding to hire foreign-born workers.

“A culture that celebrates the prom queen over the math Olympian or the athlete over the valedictorian will not produce the best engineers,” Ramaswamy wrote in a post on X last Thursday.

The analysis of the social media platform published in November showed that Musk had apparently been increasing his posts since mid-July

The analysis found that Musk’s posts saw a sudden spike in views and engagement shortly after he began supporting Trump for president.
