Injury update for Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott, scheduled to return in April

The Dallas Cowboys were officially eliminated from the playoffs on Sunday afternoon, but that didn’t stop them from playing hard right from the start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a few hours later.

With the Cowboys leading by 10, the NBC broadcast took a moment to talk about one of the people not playing, quarterback Dak Prescott. Dak was shown as Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth discussed how much time he missed, and then they cut to sideline reporter Melissa Stark, who shared what she talked about with Prescott before the game.

Stark noted that Prescott said he recently got off his crutches and will start walking in about a month. It was specifically noted that Prescott is on track to be ready for offseason workouts in April.

Prescott was injured in early November, so we’re approaching the two-month mark from the point in question. His season was considered over due to specific surgery on his hamstring, so recovery time is obviously required.

It’s definitely great to see Prescott ready for offseason training, as the Cowboys will still have a lot of work to do to get back to the playoffs and hopefully beyond. However, there remains much question as to who the head coach will be this time of year.
