Johansson’s husband Colin Jost hosted the surprise party for the star’s milestone birthday

Scarlett Johansson lets fans in on the fun she had on her milestone 40th birthday.

While on Today with Hoda & Jenna On Tuesday, November 26, the Oscar nominee, who turned 40 on November 22, shared how she celebrated the occasion with a party.

“We had a big party. It was like, ‘This is your life’ – it was surreal. Actually, I’m still processing it,” said Johansson, who runs her own skincare brand: The Outset. “There were so many people there that I hadn’t seen in a long time, colleagues, co-stars and friends, like my high school friends,” she added.

“It was truly wonderful to see everyone I loved loving each other. It was so much fun,” Johansson continued.

While on Live with Kelly and Mark That same day, Johansson noted that her husband Colin Jost had thrown the surprise party for her.

“He’s very good at giving gifts. He always buys beautiful jewelry,” she said of Jost, 42, whom she married in 2020. “He threw a huge party for me this year. It was a surprise. And I had all the martinis for everyone, and I can’t wait to see the photos so I can remember the night.

She added: “So many of my friends and colleagues came from all over… it was magical. And he put it all together!”

Johansson, mother of son Cosmo (3) with Jost and daughter Rose (10) with ex-husband Romain Dauriac, also said further Live with Kelly and Mark that she Saturday Night Live Star husband is a “really great guy”.

“I’m very lucky,” she said. “He’s a kind person and he’s hilarious and considerate and loving and he’s a great father and I love him. I feel very, very lucky.”

While on another Today In the November 26 segment, Johansson further discussed her 40th birthday. “It feels great,” she said. “I feel like, you know, you’re always kind of taught that it’s this big milestone where you’re supposed to feel like you’ve accomplished this – I mean, in a way it feels like a big deal , in many ways.” Just the way I am, eh.”

“I also think that you’re somehow less… you don’t care what other people think. “It’s so liberating,” Johansson added.
