Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta hopes the Supercoppa Italiana in Saudi Arabia will prove to be a “winning advertisement”.

The Nerazzurri president spoke ahead of today’s semi-final clash against Atalanta via FCInterNews.

Inter will face Atalanta in the semi-finals of the Supercoppa Italiana today.

The Nerazzurri have a chance to win their first piece of silverware of the 2024-25 season with the Supercoppa.

Inter have won the competition in each of the last three seasons. As a result, they have beaten the likes of Juventus, AC Milan, Lazio and Napoli along the way.

This is now the second season in a row that the Supercoppa is a four-team mini-tournament.

It is now the second season in which the competition took place not in Italy but in Saudi Arabia.

Inter president Marotta hopes that Supercoppa Italiana will be a “successful advertisement”.

“On my own behalf and on behalf of the club I represent, I must express my gratitude to the ambassador for the hospitality shown to us,” Marotta said of Inter’s stay in Saudi Arabia.

“We were here last season too,” he said Inter The President, meanwhile, continued.

“So it’s like being with family.”

Marotta continued: “Sport plays an important role in representing Italian heritage.”

“The fact that we are here is an expression of the Made in Italy philosophy,” he said.

“We are very proud to be part of this competition,” said Marotta. “This is getting better and better and will be seen by more Italian families thanks to the collaboration with SportMediaset.”

“I hope it will be a successful advertisement,” the Inter president continued. “A great spectacle that will strengthen the bond with this sports-loving country.”

Meanwhile, Marotta concluded that the Supercoppa “represents the future of something that can contribute to our heritage.”
