Marvel Rivals is just hours away from its global release. Players can preload the game and be ready to play immediately upon launch. The anticipation for the release of this game is certainly quite high. With a list of the most famous Marvel characters and some of their lesser-known heroes, it has certainly caught the attention of many.

For many fans, it’s time for Overwatch to have some real competition, and there’s a real belief that Marvel Rivals can be the direct competition needed in the competitive hero shooter space. Fans are already expressing optimism following the announcement of Marvel Rivals’ monetization plan and content strategy in its first year.

Some have asked Marvel Rivals whether Marvel Rivals will be included in Xbox Game Pass and whether there will be bonuses for playing through the service.

Marvel Rivals is not included with Xbox Game Pass. However, it is a free game with no purchasing power. Every single hero in the game at launch, as well as every hero released after launch, will be free for everyone with no restrictions. This means that, unlike VALORANT or League of Legends, Game Pass doesn’t offer an incredibly powerful bonus, such as unlocking all characters.

In the early days of Marvel Rivals’ existence, there was some concern as to whether the game would even be playable on Xbox, as Sony owned the rights to Spider-Man and various other Marvel characters. Luckily for Xbox fans, Marvel Rivals is playable on Xbox. It’s just not specifically included in Game Pass as a Service.

However, players will need either Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or Xbox Game Pass Core to actually play Marvel Rivals on Xbox consoles, as most online games require a Game Pass subscription.
