Corbet, winner of the best director award at the Venice Film Festival, explained to the Hollywood Reporter in September why he decided to focus on the Brutalist architectural movement. “Brutalist architecture represents something that people don’t understand and that they want to demolish and tear away,” he said. “So the film is about how post-war psychology shaped post-war architecture.”
