Formula 2 runner-up Isack Hadjar will replace Liam Lawson, who is moving to Red Bull, at RB in 2025.

20-year-old French rider Hadjar will partner Yuki Tsunoda in the junior team. Lawson’s move to Red Bull’s senior team as a replacement for the departing Sergio Perez was confirmed by the team on Thursday.

His arrival completes the F1 grid for 2025, with all ten teams having announced their lineups.

“I am very excited to begin my new role at VCARB. This is huge for me, my family and all the people who believed in me from the start,” said Hadjar. “The journey from karting through the single-seater ranks to Formula 1 is the moment I have been working towards all my life, it is the dream.”

“I feel like I’m entering a whole new universe, driving a much faster car and racing with the best drivers in the world. It will be a huge learning curve, but I’m ready to work hard and do the best I can for the team. I look forward to working with Yuki and learning from him. I have always looked up to him, he went through the Red Bull Junior program like me and we are very experienced on a similar path to Formula 1 and it will be good to learn from him.

Hadjar joined Red Bull’s youth program in 2022. His arrival adds another name to the record list of rookies set to compete in 2025.

Gabriel Bortoleto, who beat Hadjar for the F2 title, will drive for Sauber, Andrea Kimi Antonelli replaces Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes, while Jack Doohan and Oliver Bearman, who both made their F1 debuts as substitutes this season, will drive for Alpine respectively .Haas.

“We are excited to have Isack with us next year and to bring a new and fresh dynamic to the team alongside Yuki in 2025,” said Laurent Mekies, RB team boss.

“His journey into Formula 1 has been nothing short of outstanding, he has shown remarkable development and achieved a number of impressive results in the junior single-seater ranks. He has the talent and drive to compete at the highest level and we have it. I am confident he will adapt quickly and make a significant impact.
