Singer Camila Cabello says she’s rebuilding her friendship with her Fifth Harmony “sister.” Normani.

The “I Luv It” star shocked the pop world when she left the girl group eight years ago in December. Now she’s slowly reconnecting with the “Wild Side” actor and thanks the time and space for the reconnection.

In a new interview, Cabello, 27, reflects on her time with Normani as a Fifth Harmony groupmate and admits that she had many of the run-ins with the Fifth Harmony members X Factor USA Quintet was born out of severe fear.

“I don’t know if I had more problems than a normal teenager because it’s hard to say what’s normal whether you’re famous or not,” he said C, XOXO Singer recognized.

“My barometer wasn’t working. It was more than a human could bear (in that situation). I think conflict resolution is really important – especially when it comes to a group,” Cabello continued.

“These are skills that you don’t have at (just) 16 years old. How do you deal with being excluded? How do you deal with jealousy? How do you deal with these things without hurting yourself or others?”

With this thoughtful attitude, she can now see Normani, whom she met at Paris Fashion Week this September, not as someone to compete with, but as a similarly talented artist with her own aspirations.

“I remember times when we laughed so hard,” she recalls NYLONadded: “With space, we can go back and use it. The last few times I’ve seen her (I would say) a bit and she’s laughed really hard. It doesn’t feel like we’re strangers. (It feels like) we’re going back to the times when we really close.”

Just two weeks before Cabello C, XOXO The album’s release in June marked Normani’s first time experiencing such an event Dopamineher long-awaited debut.

In a post on Instagram, she tried her best to express her feelings on the monumental occasion.

“This album was one of the hardest things in life for me,” Normani wrote. “(I) literally can’t even fully express my appreciation in this moment because my heart is magically overwhelmed.”

Cabello knew exactly how she felt and left words of support in a comment under the post.

“Starting a project is vulnerable and difficult, and you do it beautifully,” she shared. “Congratulations on your first album and many more to come!”

Although she received mostly positive reviews for Cabello’s project C, XOXO The album failed to catch on with listeners and peaked. No. 13 on the billboard 200 chart.

Cabello claims that her association with British pop sensation Charli XCX may have prevented the album from finding its audience.

“I said the album contains elements of hyper-pop,” a genre often associated with the “Guess” singer, who Camila calls one of her “favorites.”

“I hate that I said that because people started this thing before the album even came out. I can tell that the people who said that didn’t even hear the music. You didn’t do the reading. They didn’t listen.”

Ultimately, Cabello blames himself for the public failure of C, XOXO – and social media.

“I think I’ve been on the internet too much,” she noted. “And that really hurt me, so I got off the internet.”

While certainly not a bomb, C, XOXO received waves of support from Cabello’s fans and two major female players in the music world.

The first, the singer claims, was none other than “Queen Bey” herself, whom she met at a white party in the industry in the summer.

“I’m going to sound off on names, but Beyoncé told me she loves my album, okay,” Cabello claimed with a laugh.

“This is the gold star. And I walked away with tears in my eyes. She’s someone I’ve watched since I was a kid.”

The other was Taylor Swift, who Cabello considers a personal friend.

“(Beyoncé) and Taylor saying nice things about the album really meant a lot to me,” she shared.

“Every time an artist I respect says, ‘Hey, I really love what you do,’ it recharges my battery.”

Camila doesn’t mention her famous ex by name, but alludes to him being a “motherfucker.”

As reported here The explosionCabello recently took a brief break from the internet, just hours after her ex Shawn Mendes dropped his self-titled project this month.

Cabello wisely chose not to mention him by name in her interview, but instead addressed the question of how an “intimate” stands out C, XOXO“June Gloom” is about someone she had fun with in private.

“I wrote it so quickly because everything is so personal to me. I was like, ‘I’m writing this for you, bitch!'”

After a pause, she realized that “b-tch” could indicate a possible situation with another woman.

“Can we say ‘It’s about you, motherfucker’?” she asked.
