I had come this far in my life without knowing what “Skibidi toilet” was, and I did my best to keep it that way. But as of today, my quest is over because it looks like Epic Games is adding the Skibidi toilet to Fortnite.

We found out about the cursed collaboration via a cryptic tweet posted today that honestly meant nothing to me. A toilet, plunger and video camera might be of use Sesame Street GuideBut when it comes to the connection with Fornite, I was completely in the dark.

Epic is apparently teasing the arrival of Skibidi Toilet in Fortnite

It was Mollie Taylor, PC Gamer features producer, who is far more hip to pop culture than I am, who made the connection, which after further investigation (since I’m a professional) was confirmed by various Fortnite dataminers, including HypeX And SpushFNBR. Skibidi Toilet is actually coming to Fortnite in the form of a Plungerman Skin, a Skibidi Toilet Back Bling, and a Plungerman Plunger Pickaxe, available individually or in a bundle.

Apparently there will also be an emote, because sure, why not:

Skibidi Toilet, as I learned, is a machinima series created by Alexey Gerasimov with Source Filmmaker and published on his DaFuq!?Boom! Channel on YouTube. It is according to Wikipediaparticularly popular among Generation Alpha – those born after the early 2010s – but has also become a broader pop culture phenomenon: you can buy a range of Skibidi toiletries at Walmart, for example.

Interestingly, the reaction to the impending skibidization of Fortnite has not been entirely positive. Reaction memes abound and some of them get a little dark, but this seems to sum up the emotions of the moment pretty succinctly:

Some have also questioned whether Epic is inviting legal trouble from Valve by adding Skibidi Toilet to its game. The singing head from the debut episode of Gerasimov’s series is actually the head of the civilian character model Male_07 from Half-Life 2. Valve may think it’s cool to see his assets used in an unrelated video series, but I can imagine it at the sight It could evoke different feelings in someone else’s game, especially if that “someone else” is doing their best to gain a foothold in Steam’s turf. On the other hand, I can’t imagine Epic would start a project like this without making sure all legal bases are covered. We’ll see.

What I find most interesting (or maybe just amusing) about this whole thing is the timing. The reveal of Skibidi Toilet in Fortnite comes literally a day after Borderlands narrative director Sam Winkler said that he “Cry real tears“If Borderlands 4 even had the word “skibidi” in it. It’s fair to say that your humor falls below the baseline set by Borderlands.

Despite the skepticism, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the Skibidi Toilet crossover turns out to be a big moneymaker for Epic. The DaFuq!?Boom! The channel currently has almost 45 million subscribers and the last episode, released four weeks ago, has been viewed 27 million times so far. And in case you forgot, Michael Bay is currently thinking about launching the “Skibidi Toilet Multiverse.” TV and cinema screens. The critics strongly rejected this collaboration, but on the whole the strange story that began with a head in the toilet remains extremely popular.
