It’s Giving Tuesday! Consider making a donation to one of WLKY’s partner organizations

With the biggest shopping days behind us, Tuesday is a day to give back. The Tuesday to donate is always after Thanksgiving. The movement was launched in 2012 to give consumers a chance to give back after spending money over the holiday weekend. If you are looking for a place to donate, consider donating to one (or more) of WLKY’s partner organizations that provide important programs and services to the community: American Lung Association – provides education about lung health, lung disease research, support and programs, services and advocacy.Boys & Girls Club – After-school provider providing a safe and healthy environment. Working with children today means a better future for everyone tomorrow. Cedar Lake – The largest provider of residential and community services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the state of Kentucky. Family Scholar House – provides comprehensive care to disadvantaged single mothers, fathers and their children and supports them in achieving their educational, career and family goals. Harbor House of Louisville – Enables people with disabilities and their families to lead fulfilling and productive lives. Their recently opened Multigenerational Center offers services and programs for all ages. Jewish Family and Career Services – Offers services to people of all faiths and backgrounds in the greater Louisville area. Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – A global leader in the fight against blood cancer. Louisville Urban League – Nonprofit, nonpartisan organization helping African Americans and other marginalized populations achieve social and economic equality. March of Dimes – works to improve the health of mothers and babies and leads the fight against premature birth. Maryhurst – works to strengthen and strengthen children and families in greatest need and provides counseling and residential programs. Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign – Provides year-round support and housing programs to at-risk members of the community. Twisted Pink – A mission to provide hope and connection to people living with metastatic breast cancer by funding bold breakthroughs in research and awareness. Volunteers of America – Strengthens communities through human services and diverse programs that address the urgent needs of our community. housing for low-income families, veterans and seniors; Substance use disorder recovery services. Freedom House is a national model for pregnant and parenting women to overcome substance use disorders. Wednesday’s Child – Works to facilitate recruitment of foster and adoptive parents, provide assistance to adoptive families, support youth awaiting adoption and those transitioning to independent living.
