Meteorologist Majestic Storm has the forecast

Hello, good Tuesday morning. I’m a 4029 meteorologist, majestic dorm and boy is it still cold out there in northwest Arkansas. We saw temperatures drop to freezing on Sunday evening and we do not expect temperatures to rise above freezing in NWA until Thursday. You can imagine that our day starts with temperatures in the teens. We will have a nice mix of sun and clouds early in the day, gradually clearing to sunny skies and low 30s. That’s where we’ll peak for the river valley today, low 20s, if you walk out the door in *** light winds it will feel even colder. *** Beautiful day ahead, but chilly, especially if working outside. Highs today are forecast to be in the mid 30s, a little warmer for the river valley. We’ll be here every hour at 7 a.m. while we get the kids up and ready for school today. Everyone needs multiple layers and grabs that heavy jacket, especially if they have one. Wait at school bus stops as temperatures will be as high as 15 and 20°C, but dangerously cold wind chill levels will make it feel even colder than actual air temperatures. We’re going to have damn few clouds out there. However, it’s hard to get warm around mid-morning and 10am, even throughout the afternoon, although I expect we’ll get some sunshine. Northwest Arkansas will see around 3 o’clock, widespread 30s, low 30s. I don’t think many of us will even reach freezing today. And then as we move into the night hours and into tomorrow, we will essentially do it again. So the weather will be calm over the next few days, but let’s take a look at everything you need to know as we head into the later half of our work week. So we’re looking for some snow Thursday afternoon and into Friday. Yes, we are pretty confident that widespread and measurable snow will indeed return across most of Arkansas. It is likely that snow will fall across most of our area. We’re not talking about a rain-rain-snow mix here. There will be snow which will cause some problems when traveling. So start really planning for snow on the ground over the next few days. The impact will likely affect travel for all of us, but it will be worst the further south you are. So that applies to the National Weather Service. issued winter storm warnings for the river valley this morning. They don’t go into effect until Thursday and Friday, but that really puts things into perspective and shows that our confidence in this winter storm system is increasing, but the totals for the river valley right now appear to be greater than northwest Arkansas is coming because if Considering where the storms are coming from the river valley, it will snow. First, about 3 to 7 inches of snow could currently accumulate in the river valley Thursday afternoon through Friday, and then I still need to determine the total for northwest Arkansas. But again, this should be a statewide and Arkansas-wide snowstorm that we’re keeping a careful eye on for everyone. So stay close to the 4029 Weather Team as they keep you updated on the latest information and all the details we continue to learn as we move forward.
