It’s snowing in Boston this weekend, how much? New England Snow Forecast – NBC Boston

Happy Friday! We say goodbye to the strong, gusty winds today and hello to the light snowfall this weekend.

As we move through this Friday we can expect the winds to ease by this afternoon. However, wind gusts of up to 25 miles per hour may occur throughout the morning. Highs in the afternoon will be over 30°C and with lighter winds expected it won’t feel as cold.

We’ll see mostly sunny skies today, with increasing cloudiness this evening, all ahead of some snow on Saturday.

Let’s talk about it.

The same weather system that has brought wintry weather to the Southern Plains and Deep South will bring a chance of light snow to the Boston area on Saturday.

The snow we are expecting here in Boston will not shut down our area. In fact, we will see light, isolated snow showers off and on Saturday morning through the afternoon. We could see up to an inch of snow covering the entire area, including in the city of Boston.

However, some areas north of the city of Boston toward the North Shore and Merrimack Valley could see isolated amounts of up to 2 inches of snow. There could also be isolated higher amounts along the cape. We will monitor it closely. It should snow from north to south by Saturday night.

Highs on Saturday will be in the low to mid 30s. Low temperatures will fall into the mid 20s. Please remember that any remaining snow on the roads freezes very quickly, especially on Saturday night. Be careful when driving!

On Sunday there will be sunshine and highs over 30 degrees. By Monday, highs will be around 40 degrees.

A few more snow flurries are possible through Tuesday.
