Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence suffered a concussion from a brutal late hit by Azeez Al-Shaair that resulted in the Texans linebacker being ejected and sparking a brawl between the NFL teams on Sunday.

Lawrence was coming to a stop after a six-yard scramble when Al-Shaair hit him in the head, visibly shaking the Jags’ quarterback and infuriating his teammates.

When a mass shoving match broke out not far from where Lawrence was lying on the field, Jacksonville cornerback Jarrian Jones was also ejected for his role in the fight and Jacksonville tight end Evan Engram was penalized for unnecessary roughness.

Things briefly heated up again as Al-Shair and Jacksonville guard Brandon Scherff chatted as Al-Shair was escorted off the field.

Teammates held Al-Shair back as he tried to pursue Scherff.

It is not the first time this season that Al-Shair has been involved in an on-field altercation.

In September, he avoided a suspension after punching Chicago Bears running back Roschon Johnson, although he was reportedly fined $11,000 by the NFL.

This incident occurred after Al-Shair hit Bears quarterback Caleb Williams on the sideline as Williams went out of bounds. As several Bears players complained, Al-Shair slapped Johnson’s face mask.

Lawrence left Sunday’s game sitting in a cart but was soon ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

He had just returned to the lineup after missing two games with a left shoulder injury.
