Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks has a scary injury moment against the Milwaukee Bucks

The New York Knicks appear to be on their way to a monumental victory, but suffer a major scare in the third quarter at Madison Square Garden.

Point guard and captain Jalen Brunson left Sunday afternoon’s game between the Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks with an apparent shoulder injury sustained when he made contact with AJ Green as he went to the net.

Brunson was removed and retreated to the New York locker room with his father and assistant coach Rick, where he remained stationed for several minutes. When he returned to the garden, he immediately reported back into the game, prompting chants of “MVP” from those gathered for the weekend’s final matinee.

Brunson’s quick start accelerated the Knicks’ early efforts and gave them a lasting lead. He scored 23 points in the opening period and 32 when he was forced into the locker room. Upon his return, he quickly scored five points to prevent a mini-Milwaukee comeback, giving him 37 points (13 of 21, 4 of 9 from three-point range) on one of his most efficient shooting days of the season. .

The Knicks lead the Bucks 108-89 after three quarters. Karl-Anthony Towns had 24 straight off the bat, while Cam Payone had 13 off the bench.
